About Us

Before I begin telling you what PokerRunsUSA.com is all about and why it came into existence it would be important to explain what a Poker Run is for those of you that have never participated in one before.

According to wikipedia.org "A poker run is an organized event where participants, usually using motorcycles, all-terrain vehicles, boats, snowmobiles, horses, on foot or other means of transportation must visit five to seven checkpoints, drawing a playing card at each one. The object is to have the best poker hand at the end of the run. The event has a time limit, however the participants are not timed—winning is purely a matter of chance. A dice run is one variation, where instead of collecting cards, participants roll dice at each stop. The object is to have the highest score as determined by the sum of the dice rolls."

In addition Poker Runs provide a meaningful and effective way to bring the motorcycle community together to raise money for charities. Money raised comes primarily from fees charged each rider to participate and from local and national businesess which co-sponsor the event.

The biggest problem facing the Poker Run community today is the lack of a centralized resource where all events in an area can be viewed at once. The vast majority of riders we've interviewed complain of missing events because they were not made aware of them beforehand. The primary form of advertising today consists of random Facebook posts, 8 1/2 x 11 Poster ads in local stores and other businesses and a few outdated motorcycle related sites.

It is not hard to understand how many events go completely unnoticed leaving riders and sponsors at a loss. Bringing the entire community together is the aim of PokerRunsUSA.com. We plan to do that by making it easy to post, promote, follow and advertise current and upcoming events. We estimate that at least 87% of the visitors and members to our site will be Poker Run enthusiasts giving us a highly concentrated and motivated community. If you are using only Facebook or local advertising you are probably missing at least twice as many potential participants because most visitors will not be bike owners. With your help and support we can change that beginning in 2017 and when we do everybody will benefit like never before.
